BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — His name is "Mr. Pink."
The large, inflatable pink man peeking through the window at Winthrop Center is the work of French artist Philippe Katerine and part of the Downtown Boston Alliance's WINTERACTIVE exhibition, which officially returned for a second year Wednesday.

"This exhibit is designed to get people out and moving and enjoying being outside in the winter months, encouraging them to shop and dine at downtown restaurants, stay at downtown hotels, and make this a destination to come and experience really immersive, beautiful, thought provoking art," said Kelsey Pramik, DBA's Director of Special Projects.
The exhibition takes inspiration from similar art displays in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, with several of the contributing artists also hailing from the city.
Among the peculiar artwork at this year's WINTERACTIVE are five other "Mr. Pinks;" "Alouette" by Brandon Vickerd, a replica of the 1962 Canadian satellite of the same name that appears to have crashed onto a car on Washington Street; "Living Lantern" by NEON Studio & Frankie Boyle, a kinetic light installation at Shopper's Plaza; and "Nature's Solace" by Mike Geiger, a group of illuminated forest guardians at the New England Aquarium.
WINTERACTIVE runs through Sunday, March 30.
