BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio)— Snow and rain will likely impact Wednesday evening’s commute, according to the National Weather Service.
In Eastern Massachusetts and the Greater Boston Area, rain will develop this morning and will turn to sleet and snow starting around 2 p.m. and will last through the evening commute. If snow accumulates it will be light, with about 1 to 3 inches in the eastern part of the state.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been put into place for Central and Western Massachusetts. Outside of Interstate 495, we can expect anywhere from 2 to 4 inches of snow. There could be up to 5 inches in localized locations.
The snow will make roads and bridges slick, and drivers are warned to take caution while travelling.
The advisory will expire overnight, and the weather should be calm by the morning.
