'Witch City Wedding': Couple Ties The Knot On Halloween In Salem

SALEM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — For one couple, the best place to tie the knot was in the Witch City.

Thaddeus and Danielle Martin are from West Virginia and they knew they wanted a spooky wedding, so Salem became a top choice.

"We got engaged back in the spring [and] pretty quickly decided we should get married on Halloween. It's our favorite holiday," said Thaddeus.

The ceremony took place at Salem's Willows Park on Friday, with Danielle wearing a black veil and Thaddeus in gothic attire. Planning a dream wedding was one thing but bringing it to reality was much harder.

"It was pretty cool to be able to pull it off. There were moments where I didn't think it was going to happen in Salem," said Dannielle.

Justice of the Peace Penny Richards officiated the wedding. She said this was her third spooky ceremony in Salem.

"Other than the things I have to do legally to marry a couple, I'm willing to do just about whatever they might want to," said Richards. "They want to be in Salem for the magic of the Halloween holiday and the whole spirit of being in Salem."
