WORCESTER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — As talks to end the Major League Baseball lockout drag on, the WooSox want everyone to know — they'll be open for business this spring.
The Red Sox have had their first six home games of the season canceled because of the ongoing negotiations between the MLB owners and the Players' Association, which means baseball fans are suddenly out in the cold.
Cue the WooSox: the minor league team said Tuesday that its schedule isn't affected by the lockout and will be going on as scheduled.
The WooSox open their season on the road in Jacksonville on April 5. The team's home opener is on April 12, against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs.
The very earliest the Red Sox could return to Fenway is now April 15, against the Minnesota Twins.
