WOBURN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Woburn man was arrested after police said he accidentally shot his friend on Saturday afternoon.
Woburn Police said Alec Augustino Braz of Woburn had just received his gun license and was showing friends a .40 caliber Smith and Wesson on Saturday when the gun accidentally went off.
The bullet hit one of Braz's friends, a 19-year-old man, in the neck.
The man was taken to the hospital at about 3:00 PM, but police said his condition wasn't life-threatening.
Police took Braz's pistol and suspended his gun license. He's being charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Discharging a Firearm Within 500 Feet of a Building, and Improper Storage of a Firearm.
He will be arraigned in Woburn District Court on Monday.
