WOBURN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A chemical reaction in the kitchen of a Red Robin in Woburn led to the restaurant's evacuation Tuesday.
The reaction occurred at around 4:30 p.m. when workers accidentally mixed two pails of cleaning agent together.
Customers and employees safely evacuated the building as firefighters and HAZMAT crews arrived to assess the situation.
No one was seriously injured, though three Red Robin workers were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The incident comes nearly two weeks after a similar chemical reaction at a Buffalo Wild Wings in Burlington that killed one manager and sent 10 others to the hospital.
Red Robin said that the restaurant is closed until further notice.
