Woman In Critcal Condition After Being Hit By A Car In Methuen

METHUEN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A woman is in critical condition after being hit by a car while walking on Monday morning in Methuen.

At about 10 A.M., the Methuen Police Department responded to Route 28 between Oakland Avenue and Horne Street for a motor vehicle vs. pedestrian crash.

Officials said it appears the 60-year-old woman was walking and attempted to cross Rt. 28 when a Toyota Scione hit her. The Scione was driven by a 64-year-old man.

The woman was thrown several feet and landed on the pavement, according to police.

She suffered severe life-threatening injuries and was transported to Lawrence general Hospital. The victim was then airlifted to Beth Israel Hospital where she is in critical condition.

The crash is still under investigation.
