Woman Injured, Dogs Killed After Being Struck By Car In Marlborough

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A woman walking two dogs in Marlborough has been seriously injured after she was hit by a car last night on Route 20. Both of the dogs were killed.

The accident happened around 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of West Main and Winthrop Street.

A spokesperson for the Department of Transportation says both travel directions on the highway between Pleasant Street and Granger Boulevard had to be closed.

The driver remained at the scene of the accident. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
