Woman Rescued From Quincy Quarry

QUINCY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A young woman has sustained serious injuries after falling "a significant distance" into a quarry over the weekend.

At around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Quincy Fire Department, State Troopers, and EMT responded to calls about a young woman who had fallen from a rock ledge approximately 60 feet into Swingles Quarry.

According to MSP, preliminary observation suggested she had "serious but non-life threatening injuries."

The right lane on Route 93 southbound was temporarily shut down to facilitate the rescue. The woman was transported to Boston Medical Center for treatment. There has been no update on her condition.
