Woman Says North Carolina Uber Driver Took Her On An Unwanted Ride

Ride Hailing App Uber Prepares For Its IPO On The New York Stock Exchange

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Sarah Alfageeh of Boston says a North Carolina Uber driver took her and a friend on an unwanted 45-minute drive to their hotel that should have taken only 15 minutes.

She says the chatty driver basically held the two captive while telling them he was taking a different exit.

Alfageeh says the driver ended the trip on the app, then continued to drive off-route so he could continue the conversation.

After complaining, the driver eventually let the two off about seven minutes from the hotel.

Alfageeh reported the driver and Uber says he's been suspended. She says Uber has not apologized.
