Woonsocket Man Killed In Flaming Uxbridge Crash

UXBRIDGE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Woonsocket, R.I, man is dead after colliding with another car in a fiery crash on Saturday night in Uxbridge.

Police said they got reports of the crash on Route 146 North at about 10:00 PM on Saturday. State police say Jonathan Marmol was driving south when he crossed over the median onto the northbound side of the highway. Marmol crashed head-on into another sedan, and both cars quickly burst into flame and became engulfed.

The other driver, a 62-year-old from West Boylston, escaped with minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Police said the crash shut down the northbound side of Route 146 for three hours.

State Police are still investigating what led Marmol to cross into oncoming traffic.
