WORCESTER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio)— Red Sox fans in Worcester will get a chance to watch Tuesday night's American League Wild Card game in-stadium for free, just not at Fenway Park.
The Worcester Red Sox will host a watch party at their home stadium, Polar Park, for Boston's matchup against their historic rivals the New York Yankees. Fans will be able to watch the game at the stadium either in the DCU Club on televisions or in the stands on the outfield video board.
WBZ's James Rojas (@JamesRojasWBZ) spoke with Worcester's Senior Vice President of Communications Bill Wanless about why they decided to host the event.
"A lot of times fans just like to be together with other fans," Wanless said. "It takes a little bit of the nervous edge off if you're watching a game and that's what we're trying to provide here, a chance for people to gather...and watch the game together."

The gates open for the event at 7 p.m. and the first pitch is scheduled for 8:08 p.m. Wanless said typical ballpark food and drinks will be available during the game.
