Worcester, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Under new ownership, the Worcester Bravehearts are getting ready to play their 11th baseball season in Worcester.

The team was sold to the Vaccaro family earlier this month.

They will continue to play their home games on Fitton Field at Holy Cross.

The Vaccaro family said  to hopefully attract more fans they are going to try some new marketing ideas modeled after the sometimes-zany Savannah Bananas.

Assistant General Manager Donny Vaccaro said the team's new business model includes all-you-can-eat concessions with the purchase of a $20 ticket. "You're going to come to the ballpark and know exactly how much you are spending," he said. "There are going to be days on Sundays that a parent is bringing two children to the game and they're both not only getting into the game for free but they're eating for free."

The new owners said they are testing a new partnership with the Red Sox minor league team the Worcester Woo Sox that includes switching off home games so the two teams don't steal each other's crowds.

The Bravehearts are part of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League.
