Worcester Man Arraigned After Stabbing At Clark University Gym

WORCESTER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A suspect in a stabbing at Clark University has ordered held without bail in Worcester.

Worcester Police say 18-year-old Knowledge Bethea of Worcester stabbed two people at Clark University's Kneller Athletic Complex gym. The man pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on Wednesday and was ordered held until a dangerousness hearing.

Police were called to the gym on Downing Street at about 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday night. Witnesses told police a fight broke out on the court during a basketball game. The two victims, a 17-year-old and a 23-year-old, were both rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

Bethea was arrested on scene. He's facing two counts of Armed Assault to Murder and two counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.

University officials told WBZ NewsRadio the gym opened back up at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday. They said neither the suspect nor the victims were affiliated with the university.
