CHATHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Filming was disrupted at two Netflix productions sites this week on Cape Cod, in both Chatham and Harwich, where members of the Writer's Guild of America showed up with picket signs to block delivery trucks working for the project "The Perfect Couple."

Though a majority of the picket line demonstrations have taken place in Los Angeles, California, many have popped up in New England since the writer's strike began on May 2. Among them, WGA members appeared at the filming of "Good Burger 2" in Rhode Island and at Boston University's commencement ceremony, where Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav was a speaker.

Members of the WGA are looking for better working contracts, with avenues to protect writers from being replaced by Artificial Intelligence.

"The Perfect Couple" is a television series in production that will star celebrities like Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Dakota Fanning, and Eve Hewson.

WBZ's Jim MacKay (@JimMacKayOnAir) reports.
