BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Bruins are rolling! Wins in 7 of 8 to move within 5 points of the East-leading Lightning, with 3 games in hand.

Adam McQuaid's group has points in 20 of the last 21 so, really, the B's have been enjoying success for a while now--but the defenseman said the quality of play's intensifying with each passing day.

"I mean, this week has been a good challenge," he said. "I think they've been playoff-type games, fast-paced but physical too. You're getting into the latter part of the season here, and every point's important, so I think we're going to see that increased intensity."

Bruins' Brad Marchand Anxious To Return From Suspension

Bruins beat up on the Maple Leafs 4-1 Saturday. They'll open a 2-game road trip tonight in Detroit at 7:30 with Tuukka Rask in net. He's 18-0-and-2 his last 21 appearances with a 1-59 goals-against-average and .942 save percentage.

Red Wings have won 2 of 3. B's have won both meetings this year by a combined 6-3 margin.

Anders Bjork didn't make the trip. Brad Marchand will return from his 5-game suspension tomorrow in New York opposite the Rangers.
