Nativity Scene at the State House?  Massachusetts State Representative Jim Lyons is planning to set up a Nativity scene inside the State House next week, similar to the one he helped put up last year.  Once again, some have complained that the Nativity scene is inappropriate for a government building due to its religious message.  But Representative Lyons says that he isn’t doing it as a political statement, but rather as a way to spread a message of “love, joy and hope”.  Rep. Lyons joins Dan in the NightSide studio to discuss the display and why he feels it’s important.  Do you think a temporary Nativity scene should be allowed in the State House?  Or does it cross the line separating church and state?  Call in and be heard!

An Inside Look at the Kennedys!  Gerard Doherty was a major political player here in Massachusetts for many years.  Formerly the head of the Massachusetts Democratic Party, Doherty also played a prominent role in Jack, Bobby, and Ted Kennedy’s campaigns.  Tonight, he sits down with Dan to talk about his experience and what it was like working with one of the most powerful political families this country has ever known.  Call in with your comments or questions and join the conversation!

Judge Says Transgender Recruits Allowed!  Earlier this year, President Trump announced that the U.S. would no longer welcome transgender individuals to serve in the military.  But since that announcement, a federal judge has blocked the administration’s outright ban of transgender service members, as well as its request to delay a new order that requires the military to accept transgender recruits as of January 1st 2018.  Do you think the courts are doing the right thing by protecting individual rights?  Or has the judicial branch overstepped its authority in telling the President how the military should operate?  Call in and tell us what’s on your mind!
