NightSide with Dan Rea - Rundown for 1/22/18

Mayor Walsh is in Studio!  Every month, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh joins Dan in the NightSide studio to talk about the biggest issues facing the city of Boston and to take your calls.  Tonight, Dan will ask Mayor Walsh about Boston’s standing as a finalist for Amazon’s new headquarters, how the winter storm cleanup efforts have been going, what to do about short term rental properties, his thoughts on last night’s Patriots win, and whatever else you’d like to hear discussed.  Call in with your comments or questions and join the conversation!

Schumer and the Democrats Cave!  After a three day government shutdown, Congress has voted to reopen the government until February 8th.  Democrats had originally said they would not vote to keep the government open without a deal on DACA, but backed off that position once it became clear they were not getting as much public support as they expected.  With a new deadline of February 8th, the debate over what to do about DACA will be intense over the next couple of weeks.  How do you think we should handle the beneficiaries of DACA?  Do we have a moral responsibility to protect people who voluntarily came out of the shadows to file for work permits and pay taxes?  Or should the concerns of American citizens come first, no matter what?  Did the Democrats hurt their brand by shutting down the government over this issue?  Call in and be heard!
