NightSide with Dan Rea - Rundown for 2/6/18

The Mechanics of Marijuana in Massachusetts!  Massachusetts is preparing to open the doors to an entirely new industry later this year, as dispensaries will begin selling legal recreational marijuana.  Steve Hoffman is Chairman of the Cannabis Control Commission, and will be overseeing the rollout across the state.  Tonight, he joins Dan in studio to talk about legal and logistical obstacles, enforcement, neighborhood concerns, and what to expect over the next few months.  Call in with your comments or questions and add your voice to the mix!

Should Massachusetts Be a Sanctuary State?  A bill currently being discussed by the Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security could create the legal framework for Massachusetts to become a sanctuary state.  Do you think it’s in the Commonwealth’s best interest to ensure that state money and resources aren’t being used for federal immigration enforcement?  Or is it important to the safety of Massachusetts residents to make sure the state doesn’t become a haven for illegal immigrants?  Call in and tell us where you stand!

Shut it Down?  President Trump went on the offensive today, saying that if Democrats don’t want to work on a bipartisan immigration deal that will significantly strengthen our borders and crack down on the lottery system and chain migration, then he welcomes another shutdown.  The President emphasized that a shutdown might be exactly what the country needs unless Democrats get serious about reforming the immigration system as well as increasing military spending.  Do you agree that a government shutdown could be a good thing if Democrats aren’t willing to come to the table?  Is immigration reform worth shutting the government down over?  Call in and sound off!
