Drivers Say ‘Not So Fast’ to Automated Speeding Tickets! Providence, Rhode Island paved the way for new traffic cameras last year, approving fifteen cameras that were installed around areas that had a high number of accidents or complaints. The cameras target drivers going more than ten miles over the speed limit, issuing ninety-five dollar tickets for every violation. But now, just weeks after the cameras became operational, more than twelve thousand tickets have been issued, and local residents are furious.
