Bruce Tarr on the Beagle Bill.Massachusetts Senate Minority Leader Bruce Tarr is in studio with Dan to discuss the Beagle Bill, legislation that will create “life after the lab” opportunities for animals used in research facilities. Most animal testing facilities rely on dogs – the vast majority of which are beagles. Renown for being docile and easy-going, the beagle breed has become a central component of research laboratory testing. Sen. Tarr wants to create new opportunities for the adoption of retired lab animals.

Patriot Antonio Brown is Given His Walking Papers. Wide Receiver Antonio Brown's career with the Patriots has only lasted one game. The team released him this afternoon after accusations of allegedly intimidating a witness surfaced this week. Brown posted a farewell to the Patriots on his Twitter, account, saying, “Thanks for the opportunity,” and he also sent his thanks to head coach Bill Belichick. Did the Patriots do the right thing?

Boston's Climate Change Rally.Thousands of youths gathered on Boston’s City Hall Plaza today to call for action on climate change, as part of the “climate strikes” series ahead of a United Nations climate summit in New York City. After rallying, the demonstrators headed to the Massachusetts State House carrying colorful signs, proclaiming, “Science is not fake news,” “Make Earth great again,” and “We don’t inherit the earth from our ancestors. We borrow it from our children.”
