Morgan speaks with Alan Tolz, former producer of The Jerry Williams Show and author of Burning Up the Air: Jerry Williams, Talk Radio, and the Life In Between, who reviews the year 2020 and highlights some of the country’s best and worst moments. Was 2020 just a blur for you? What are your predictions for 2021?
Calling All Sports. It’s been a tough year for everyone…but professional athletes pushed through to offer a welcomed distraction from the isolation of quarantines brought on by the coronavirus pandemic. They played without fans, or with minimal attendees, and certainly suffered setbacks along the way. Morgan chats with Jimmy Myers, longtime radio and television sportscaster, about the current state of the sports scene and some of the famous folks he's met along the way. How have your favorite teams been playing?
King's Castle Land. It started out as a restaurant with a couple of amusement rides in the back and grew to a 7-acre park which included 14 rides, a toy store, and a petting zoo. For nearly a half-century, King's Castle Land brought children of all ages to Whitman, Massachusetts to experience the homes of the Three Little Pigs, the oversized shoe of the old woman who had too many children, and even a fire-breathing dragon. Morgan reminisces with Richard Rosen, co-owner of McGuiggan's Pub and president of Rosen Realty Inc. in Whitman, MA. Did you ever visit King’s Castle Land?
Boston’s House Band. Bill and Bo Winiker have entertained thousands at weddings, corporate events, and parties. They were dubbed “Boston’s House Band” by The Boston Globe. Bo has worked with Billy Joel, performed at the White House for President Ford, at President Carter’s Inauguration, and at Bill Clinton’s Inaugural Ball alongside Aretha Franklin. Bill is a charismatic drummer and skilled bandleader who has been playing professionally since he was 13. Morgan chats with Bill and Bo about their work and how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected their music and public events. Have you experienced Winiker Music?
