Tim Shriver and Unity. Special Olympics Chairman and founder of Unite, Tim Shriver joins Dan to discuss a new book he has edited entitled, The Call to Unite: Voices of Hope and Awakening. The book is a collection of stories and insights from some of our most prominent spiritual and religious leaders, poets and thinkers, and singers and writers. It’s a book of wisdom to bring a little light to these dark pandemic times.
Meanwhile in New York… Last Friday, the state of New York launched an app called the NY Excelsior Pass which people are comparing to a “vaccine passport”. The pass is a first in the nation digital vaccine certification that would grant civilians access to various venues throughout the state. NY Gov. Cuomo said, “the Excelsior Pass will play a critical role in getting information to venues and sites in a secure and streamlined way, allowing us to fast-track the reopening of these businesses”. Are you in favor or opposed to “vaccine passports”?
Dignity and Respect? Over the weekend, Sen. Ted Cruz took a tour of a migrant holding facility in Donna, Texas where Cruz witnessed what he says was 4,200 children crammed into a space that was meant to house 250 under COVID restrictions. While trying to capture the site on camera, an advisor at the facility jumped in front of Cruz’s camera asking Cruz to please give the people “dignity and respect”. Sen. Cruz has since written a letter to President Biden urging him to “confront the consequences of his policies” and allow the press to report the truth. Is there a humanitarian crisis at the Border?
