Chauvin: The Day After. The verdict is in and Minneapolis is still standing. Despite Chauvin being found guilty on all three counts, activists and politicians claim it’s not enough, and that the results were only a measure of justice not equal justice. Vice-President Harris says the guilty verdict does not heal the pain while Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York argues that not only was the verdict not justice, it's not even accountability. Rare Convictions. Did you know that while there have been thousands of police shootings in the United States since 2005, fewer than 140 officers have been charged with murder or manslaughter, says Phil Stinson, a criminologist at Bowling Green State University. An Illegal Alien by Any Other Name... The Biden Administration has ordered U.S. immigration enforcement agencies to stop using the terms “alien,” “illegal alien”, and “assimilation” when referring to immigrants. In a memo I.C.E. was told in an effort to build a more “humane” immigration system, the word “alien” will become “non-citizen or migrant,” “illegal” will become “undocumented,” and “assimilation” will change to “integration.” Do you approve of the changes?
