Masked in Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Board of Education today granted authority to Commissioner Jeff Riley to implement a mask mandate in state schools at least until Oct.1st. Riley says he could not rule out the possibility that masks may be required intermittently throughout the year based on the trajectory of the virus. Is this a positive step forward in the fight against the Coronavirus?
A Dad Takes a Stand Against CRT. A black father of three took a stand this past week in front of the Colorado Springs school board against Critical Race Theory being taught to his children. Derrick Wilburn, founder of the Rocky Mountain Black Conservatives, says as the descendant of slaves he is not oppressed or a victim and that CRT keeps racism alive. After his impassioned speech, the board shot down the CRT curriculum in the district. Is this Dad on the right track?
Brinkmanship. President Biden says he will not push back the August 31st Afghanistan evacuation deadline. This after the Taliban threatened "a reaction" if the U.S. stay was extended. Thousands of Americans and U.S. allies are still desperately awaiting rescue in the wake of the militant group's rapid takeover of the country.
