NightSide with Dan Rea - Rundown for September 24, 2021

Revere vs. Boston and the Homeless Problem. A proposal to move homeless people from the Boston area known as “Mass. and Cass” to the Quality Inn in Revere is being met with pushback. Revere Mayor Brian Arrigo is blasting his Boston counterpart, Acting Mayor Janey, over the proposal saying he has received almost no details about the plan. Mayor Arrigo joins Dan this evening to discuss the proposal.

Florida vs. Sanctuary Cities. A federal judge has ruled that a Florida law banning municipalities from adopting “sanctuary” policies for illegal immigrants is unconstitutional. U.S. District Judge Beth Bloom partially based her decision on the support this law has gained among “anti-immigrant hate groups” such as the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR). Joining Dan to discuss is the President of FAIR, Dan Stein.

The James Montgomery Band with Scott Brown! The James Montgomery Band, with the addition of Scott Brown, is coming to the Kowloon Restaurant in Saugus for a special 50th Anniversary celebration as part of the Home Grown Rock for Boston's Homeless Vets series.
