The Sheriff Has a Plan for Mass & Cass. Suffolk County Sheriff Steve Tompkins says he has a solution for the burgeoning homeless encampment at the intersection of Mass and Cass in Boston. A vacant building once used to house federal immigration detainees is now vacant and needs to be re-purposed. The building would provide shelter from the soon to be winter weather and a place where those who need it could receive mental health and substance abuse treatment. The Sheriff joins Dan to talk about the plan.

Bullying Outrage. A Wellesley, Massachusetts high schooler was viciously bulled and attacked by fellow classmates. The teen was ambushed and then punched, kicked, elbowed, spit on, and urinated on The attack has spurred massive outrage and a protest over school bullying. Wellesley school administrators say they have done everything they can to address the bullying. Have they? How should school bullying be handled? Parents of the Wellesley teen victim, Dylan and Allyson Ade join Dan to discuss this pressing issue.

Systematic Failure. Philadelphia authorities say a woman was raped on a train near the city while passengers stood by and watched and made no effort to help, not even to dial 911. Surveillance footage in the train car clearly shows that passengers had an opportunity to act but failed to do so. Recent reports say the rape suspect is here in the U.S. illegally. Is this another example of how our immigration system has failed us?

Bye, Bye Thomas Jefferson. U.S. President Thomas Jefferson’s statue in the New York City Council Chamber is coming down after nearly a century residing in the Chamber. After a reassessment of the founding father, The New York City Public Design Commission voted unanimously to remove the statue due to Jefferson’s history of being a slaveholder. Do you support or oppose the removal of Jefferson’s statue?
