Noncitizen Voting Rights? Last week New York City granted noncitizens with legal status the right to vote in municipal elections. Globe columnist Marcela Garcia thinks Boston should follow their lead. There are close to 98,000 legal immigrants in the Hub. Should they be allowed to take part in our electoral process?

What's in a Hat? Gubernatorial candidate and State Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz is defending a campaign staffer whose Twitter profile photo portrays him wearing a hat inscribed with the anti-police protest slogan “ACAB” which stands for “all cops are bastards.” Chang-Diaz says the outraged police unions should use their energy to hold their officers accountable and not spend it scrutinizing her staff’s social media photos. Do you agree?

A Moment of Prayer. South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem is proposing a bill that requires public schools to allow a daily moment of silence for “voluntary prayer, reflection, meditation, or other quiet, respectful activity.” The Governor says students and teachers are “best served by a moment of silence at the start of every school day to afford them a reprieve from the frenzy of daily life and to set a tone of decorum that will be conducive to learning.” Do you agree with the Governor?

Happy Anniversary Communist Party USA. It's the 102nd birthday of the U.S. Communist Party and Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut wants to help them celebrate. The Senator says one does not have to agree with everything the Party or the unions stand for to support them and their great tradition of activism and standing up for individual workers. Do you share Blumenthal’s glowing endorsement?
