Covid Surge Startles Schools. A recent Omicron fueled Covid surge has in large part caused a rocky start for many schools as they return to in-person learning. Across Massachusetts, delays ensued Monday over Covid testing and today Boston Public Schools has over 1,000 staff members, including teachers out. The Massachusetts Teachers’ Assoc. has been critical of the Baker Administration’s approach back to the classroom saying, they “are tired of Band-Aid approaches from Baker and Riley when it comes to facing the biggest public health threat of our time.” Given the current Covid surge, should students be in the classroom?

Project Dynamo. To this day there are still U.S. citizens and allies who are stuck in Afghanistan after U.S. troops evacuated last Summer. Project Dynamo is an organization run by volunteer civilians and veterans alike who save U.S. citizens and Afghan allies from the Taliban run country that is Afghanistan. A Winter of Death? A couple weeks ago President Biden made a statement saying that for the unvaccinated “we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death.” Then, in a New Year’s message the President said that this year Americans are recovering and going “back to work, back to school, and back to joy.” Today Mr. President doubled down on how the unvaccinated should be concerned. Are we in for a “winter of death” or a season of joy?
