NightSide with Dan Rea - Rundown for January 6, 2022

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow. New England is gearing up for its first major snowstorm of the season. Meteorologists are predicting up to 8 inches of snow for Boston and Eastern Massachusetts. The heaviest snow is predicted to come down during Friday’s morning commute. Dan asks you how you’re getting ready and prepared for the storm.

Pay Up! As part of a new filing in Boston’s U.S. District Court, the feds want Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to hand over all of his prison canteen cash that he amassed. The bomber has gained roughly $21,071 from multiple sources including a Covid relief payment, individual U.S. residents, and the Office of Federal Defenders of New York. The feds are seeking Tsarnaev’s money in part to collect restitution owed to crime victims. Does Tsarnaev have any right to keep his canteen money?

January 6th Anniversary. Today marks the 1-year anniversary of the attack on Capitol Hill which rioters breached security and stormed the Capitol Building. Today, both President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris addressed the nation. Biden used his time to slam former President Trump for his involvement in last year’s attack. During Harris’ speech she compared Jan. 6th to the attacks on Pearl Harbor and 9/11. What did you make of each of their addresses? Were they commemorating or politicizing Jan. 6th? Lindsey Curnutte of The Heritage Action joins Dan to discuss.
