When The System Fails Us. Today in NYC, the funeral was held for fallen NYPD Officer Jason Rivera. During the eulogy, Rivera’s widow Dominique Luzuriaga took the opportunity to call out Manhattan’s DA Alvin Bragg for his controversial prosecution guidelines. Luzuriaga said, “The system continues to fail us. We are not safe anymore, not even the members of the service. I know you were tired of these laws, especially the ones from the new DA.” Dan discusses soft on crime policies and how it’s impacting our police and communities.
Swing and a Hit. This past week Red Sox great David Ortiz was the sole inductee chosen for the Baseball Hall of Fame. There has been much drama over the years regarding whether players who have been suspected of or proven to have used performance enhancing drugs should be allowed in the Hall of Fame. This year both Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens, both with PED allegations in their past, were snubbed. Should players linked to PED get Hall of Fame status?
