Topless in Nantucket?! There is a proposed bylaw afoot in Nantucket called “Gender Equality on Beaches” that aims to give everyone regardless of gender the right to go topless on town beaches. Current state law only allows for men to go topless publicly. Proponent of the proposed bylaw Dorothy Stover finds the current law to be “antiquated” and an example of inequality. Russian Uncertainty. Tension continues to build over what Russia will do regarding a potential invasion of Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin has signaled that Moscow is ready for security dialogue with the U.S. and NATO as reports say Russia pulled back some of its military troops near Ukraine. Canada Cracks Down on Convoy. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has invoked the Emergencies Act in an effort to crack down on the Freedom Convoy of Canadian truckers protesting the country’s Covid mandates. What this means is that Trudeau has the power to prohibit public assembly and financially freeze bank accounts of those involved in illegal blockades.
