Inviting A Convicted Murderer…The State University of New York Brockport is facing backlash for inviting a convicted murderer of police officers to speak at their university. Retired Chief of Brockport Police and adjunct lecturer at SUNY, Daniel Varrenti is stepping down from his position at the school after 22 years over this decision by SUNY to pay said convicted murderer. This decision by MIT comes at a time when many colleges and universities are doing away with standardized test requirements amid criticism that wealthier students can afford prep coaching and have an unfair advantage.
