Yay or “Nay”? A proposed horse racing track on a parcel of land in Plymouth, MA has some residents up in arms. Boston-based developer Boston South Real Estate and Development is in talks with the Plymouth County Land Commission to make this proposal a reality. What are some things, such as a casino or racetrack, that you would not want in your neighborhood? Dan speaks to Plymouth residents about this proposal.
Maskless MBTA. In light of the federal transportation mask mandate no longer being in effect, the MBTA is no longer requiring their riders to wear a mask. In addition, Uber and Lyft have also dropped mask requirements for their drivers and riders. There is almost 80% of the population in MA that is fully vaccinated. Are you dropping the mask or no?
“The Gender-Affirming Classroom”. In a new effort to help professors tackle gendered language in the classroom, Wheaton College has come out with a guide to help professors create an affirming and inclusive classroom. An example of a tip for science instructors would be to use the term “people with uteruses” or “pregnant people” instead of “women” or “females”.
