NightSide’s WooSox Event Recap! This past weekend, NightSide had its largest event ever where over 225 people joined us for a WooSox game and BBQ at Polar Park in Worcester. It was a beautiful day at the park where Dan and producer Marita got to meet some of NightSide’s loyal listeners. Dan recaps this past weekend’s event and takes calls from listeners who want to remark on their experience.
Harvard Crimson Supports BDS. The Harvard Crimson, Harvard’s student run newspaper, is receiving a lot of push back from people including at least 70 of their own faculty members for endorsing the BDS, Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions campaign against Israel. BDS is a Palestinian led movement in opposition to Israel who they believe is occupying their holy land and denying them the right to return. Former Harvard Professor Attorney Alan Dershowitz joins Dan to discuss.
Buffalo Shooting. Over the weekend a mass shooting occurred in Buffalo, NY where an 18-year-old gunman stormed a local grocery store killing 10 people and injuring at least 3 others. Police are calling the attack a hate crime as 11 out of the 13 people who were shot were Black. The gunman has been on NY State Police’s radar before…Dan discusses this latest tragedy and how a breakdown in New York’s mental health system occurred.
