Boston Police Overtime Goes Over the Top. This past weekend, dozens of Boston Police officers were ordered to accept overtime shifts of anywhere from 8 to 16 hours, resulting in actual shifts of anywhere from 16 to 24 hours. Larry Calderone, President of the Boston Police Patrolmen’s Association, joins Dan to call for the immediate hiring of hundreds of new Boston Police officers to properly staff the overworked department.

Murder or Self-Defense? An older worker at a New York Bodega faces murder charges after defending himself while behind the counter of his store. Outrage is growing against Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg whose office asked that Jose Alba, 61, be held on high bail at New York’s Rikers Island. New York Mayor Eric Adams voiced his strong support for the Bodega Worker in a local radio interview putting him in conflict with the Manhattan District Attorney’s handling of this high-profile case.

An Unlikely Rematch in 2024. Recent polls have shown both President Biden and former President Trump losing support within their own respective parties. While some dream of a 2024 rematch, Dan thinks both the Democrats and the Republicans would benefit from new faces as their Presidential nominees in 2024.
