Remembering Bill Russell. Hall of Famer and Boston Celtic Great Bill Russell passed away at the age of 88 this past weekend. Russell was with the Celtics for 13 years in which he carried them to the NBA Finals 12 times, winning the championship 11 times. The player was a passionate civil rights activist for decades which resulted in recognition from the White House when former President Barack Obama awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The Refund Is Coming! According to the Pioneer Institute, a public policy research organization, Massachusetts taxpayers will be refunded over $3 billion due to a state law revenue cap. Under the law, the state is limited in the amount of money they can collect yearly, which is based on the average growth of wages and salaries during the previous three years. Charlie Chieppo, Senior Fellow at the Pioneer Institute joins Dan to discuss.
Off to Taiwan! House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is on a tour of Asia where against President Biden’s wishes, the Speaker is expected to visit Taiwan. The White House is concerned about China’s response to such a high-profile visit as the Chinese government has warned of grave consequences if their territorial integrity is threatened. What will come as a result of Pelosi’s visit? Will the Chinese respond militarily?
