Acquitted On All Counts! Massachusetts truck driver Volodymyr Zhukovskyy was found not guilty of the multiple felony charges he received for the 2019 Randolph, NH crashed that killed 7 people. Zhukovskyy was acquitted of all seven charges of manslaughter, seven counts of negligent homicide, and one count of reckless conduct. NH Gov. Chris Sununu expressed his frustration with the court decision saying, “I share in the shock, outrage, and anger that so many have expressed in the three years since the seven members of the Jarheads Motorcycle Club were taken from us.” Tonight, your reaction to the NH court case.

You Get A Raise, And You Get A Raise! Boston Mayor Michelle Wu is seeking salary increases for her office, city council, and some top officials across city hall. The proposal would raise the mayor’s salary up 11% from $207k to $230k and the councilors’ salaries up 11% from $103,500 to $115k. The mayor says the proposal is based off of an analysis of pay in other top cities across the country. This proposal comes at a time when the country faces a recession…Do you support this pay raise proposal? Why or why not?

Inflation Remains A Concern… Despite new data that shows inflation slowed to 8.5% in July, which is a slight improvement compared to June’s 9.1% inflation rate, inflation continues to remain a concern. The price of grocery items such as eggs, butter, and poultry have skyrocketed, and it doesn’t appear to be going down anytime soon.
