Getting Ready For School. As the first day of school looms, schools are facing a number of obstacles to tackle before they begin. For starters it was recently reported that the Boston Public Schools system has over 200 teacher vacancies they are looking to fill. This comes at a time when the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education just voted to increase score requirements on the MCAS test. Jordan discusses the challenges schools are currently facing as they head towards the new school year.

It’s Official. Today, President Biden officially signed into law the $750 billion Inflation Reduction Act. The package makes major changes to health policy, boosts the IRS’ ability to collect, and includes the largest climate investment in US history. What is your reaction to what is included in this package? What are the pros and cons of the bill?

Woodstock ’99. Woodstock ’99 was a music festival held from July 22 to July 25, 1999 in Rome, New York. The festival was an attempt to emulate the original 1969 Woodstock festival, only disaster struck… the massive 300k crowd become unruly fast. Riots broke out that overruled security, fans set fires, multiple reports of sexual assault, and a lot of poop. Journalist David Blaustein covered Woodstock ’99 and is heavily featured in the new Netflix docuseries, Trainwreck: Woodstock ’99. Blaustein joins Jordan to discuss the disaster that was Woodstock ’99.
