Former Boston Mayor Kim Janey, the now president and CEO of EMPath, a non-profit group devoted to improving the lives of people living in poverty, joins Dan to discuss the implications of the racial wealth gap and how to break the cycle of poverty.

Suffolk DA Race Heats Up. With less than two weeks away from the election for Suffolk County DA, the race heats up. DA Candidate Councilman Ricardo Arroyo is facing sexual assault allegations. Arroyo has denied the allegations and says he was never questioned by police. The DA candidate told reporters that he believes the allegations are part of a smear campaign by opponent DA Kevin Hayden or an associate working on his behalf. DA Hayden comes on NightSide to discuss. Councilman Arroyo’s campaign has not responded to our requests.

California Dreaming. A proposal has been brought before the L.A. City Council that would compel local hotel owners to provide a count of vacancies, submit the list to the city housing department by 2PM each day, and accept “fair market rate” vouchers to fill the rooms with homeless people. Who will pay for the vouchers? In addition California is poised to ban new gas-powered vehicle sales starting in 2035. Tonight, your thoughts!
