Saying Goodbye to Lobster? The Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch program has added American lobster, snow crab, and more to its “red list” over concerns about their harvest methods. The watch group says, “current Canadian and U.S. management measures do not go far enough to mitigate entanglement risks and promote recovery of the North Atlantic right whale.” Will you stop eating lobster to save the right whales?

 

Boston’s Fossil Fuel Ban. The Boston City Council voted 9-3 in favor of Mayor Wu’s proposed fossil fuel ban in the large new construction sector. The measure aims to transition new construction and major renovations in Boston to all-electric heat and other forms of fossil fuel-free infrastructure.
