Morgan White Fills In On NightSide with Dan Rea - Rundown for Nov. 24, 2022

Founded in 1630. Originally called Tremontaine for the three hills in the area, Boston became its official name in honor of the many Puritans who came from a town with the same name in Lincolnshire, England. Once established, Boston was shaped by many events including the Boston Massacre, the Boston Tea Party, the Battles of Lexington and Concord, Paul Revere’s ride, the Battle of Bunker Hill, the Great Molasses Flood, the Cocoanut Grove Fire, and most recently the Boston Marathon Bombing. Joining Morgan to outline more of Boston’s historic past is Operations Manager for Boston Top Deck Trolley Tours and WBZ Radio Traffic Reporter, Jack Harte.

The Bradley Jay “BradCast”. For 38 years, Boston on-air radio personality and talk show host Bradley Jay has entertained the world, from broadcasts to podcasts, from travel experiences to personal experiences. Tonight, he joins Morgan to share some stories, some laughs, and to answer any questions you may have about being a disc jockey, talk host, world traveler, podcaster, or YouTuber!

Choo-Choo Charlie. Were you a licorice Good & Plenty fan? Then you probably still remember its catchy jingle from the early 1950s! How about “Plop, plop, fizz, fizz…oh, what a relief it is!”? Then perhaps one of the most recognizable commercials from 1968 boasts getting rid of that “ring around the collar”! Join Morgan as he chats with Media Historian Donna Halper about all those classic TV and radio commercials and jingles.
