Lowering the Voting Age? A group of teen activists from the I Have A Future Coalition gathered in front of the State House to advocate for change and with that a better future. During the group’s 15th annual Youth Justice Rally one of the changes they called for was teen voting, some holding signs that read, “Old enough to work, old enough to vote.” Should MA lower the voting age to sixteen?
College Admissions Factors. According to a Reuters/Ipsos poll, 62 percent of Americans oppose higher education institutions using race as a factor when deciding whom to admit. Furthermore, 52 percent of minority respondents surveyed said they opposed using race as a factor. This year the U.S. Supreme Court will take up a case on race-based college admissions. U.S. Supporting Taiwan. Multiple outlets report that the Biden Administration is planning to increase its military presence in Taiwan against what is believed to be a rising threat from China. According to U.S. officials, the U.S. plans to deploy between 100 and 200 troops to the island in the coming months, up from roughly 30 there a year ago.
