Security Needs in Boston Schools. Boston community members lead by local nonprofit Sociedad Latina, have raised concerns over police presence and metal detectors in Boston Public Schools. Attorneys from Lawyers for Civil Rights have expressed strong opposition to some security measures saying they are concerned that reliance on law enforcement will “exacerbate the criminalization of students of color and detract from educational experiences.” Tonight, your thoughts on what security measures should be in place at BPS.

Changing “Course” on College Campuses. Columbia University has made the decision to permanently drop their SAT or ACT testing requirement for undergraduate applicants.
