Dan spoke on NightSide about MassINC Polling Group’s recent poll that showed most BPS parents are in favor of increased police presence and metal detectors in schools. Flaps Over Flags! In the wake of the Supreme Court decision that ruled in favor of a Christian group’s right to fly their flag outside Boston’s City Hall just like any other group, MA cities and towns are still wrestling with flaps over flags. What types of messages should be allowed on municipal flag poles? How do you draw a line if at all when it comes to what to allow and what to deny?
To Block or Not to Block… The U.S. Supreme Court will take up the decision of whether public officials can block their constituents from their social media accounts when their accounts are being used to communicate with the public for their job. A block might be issued due to harassment, criticism, or expressed difference of opinion. What is your take on this decision? Do you think public officials should be allowed to block their own constituents on social media? Why or why not?
