The Clock is Ticking. Rescuers are racing against time to find a missing submersible with five passengers on board that set out Sunday morning on a tourist voyage to view the Titanic. Coast Guard officials say contact with the sub was lost about an hour and 45 minutes into the dive and time is of the essence as the vessel only holds a total of 96 hours of oxygen. US Coast Guard Northeast crews are searching for the vessel in 13,000 feet deep waters in a challenging remote area. Dan is following this story and brings you the latest.
Target of the Taliban. A former native Afghan interpreter for the US military and his family are facing homelessness come Friday. Abdul (using only his first name for the safety of relatives who still live in Afghanistan) began working with the US at the age of 17, first as a translator, then acquiring other roles during the war in Afghanistan. His career came to an abrupt halt when he stepped on an IED and lost his leg. Members of the Temple B’nai Abraham in Beverly community have been able to provide temporary housing since February when Abdul, his wife, and five children came to the US on a Special Immigrant Visa but are now seeking temporary or permanent housing for them on the North Shore. Dan talks with Rabbi Alison Adler and Abdul about how you can help.
Skirting Prosecution. Today, Hunter Biden reached an agreement with the Justice Department to plead guilty to misdemeanor tax offenses and enter a pretrial diversion agreement on a felony firearm offense charge which allows him to avoid prosecution. The deal ends a long-running investigation and avoids a trial that would have created ongoing distracting White House headlines. House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer released a statement saying the plea agreement reveals a "two-tiered system of justice." Do you think the average Joe would have been offered the same deal?
