A Change to Gun Laws in MA? House lawmakers in MA have taken up gun reform legislation that will be considered later this week. The bill would create new laws that bar firing guns at or near homes and outlaw carrying firearms while intoxicated. The proposal also includes an enhanced system to track firearms used in crimes to help curb the flow of illegal guns into the state. Jim Wallace, Executive Director of GOAL joins Dan to discuss all that the proposed bill would entail.
Almost Out of Room… Today Governor Maura Healey issued a warning to families coming to MA to seek shelter, that the state can “no longer guarantee shelter placement for families” as the shelter system in MA is on the verge of reaching capacity. Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll said the state has almost 7,500 families, close to 23k people, enrolled in the state’s emergency assistance shelter system.
