Boston City Council President Ed Flynn Checks In. Last evening on our program we discussed how Boston officials are mulling over the idea of a temporary guaranteed income program for the city’s poor residents. The proposal was put forward for discussion by outgoing Councilor Kendra Lara saying, it’s the responsibility of government to meet the basic needs of constituents and that a program could improve quality of life in Boston. Council President Ed Flynn has some concerns about the implementation of a guaranteed income proposal and joins Dan to discuss.
A Sandwich Shop Monopoly On The Horizon? The Federal Trade Commission has launched an antitrust investigation into the sale of sandwich company Subway. The probe aims to determine whether the Subway merger with the private equity firm Roark Capital, who also owns Jimmy John’s, poses competition concerns. Patrick Hedger, the Executive Director of the Taxpayers Protection Alliance joins Dan to discuss.
