Port Strike Over. The U.S. port strike of port workers and operators with the International Longshoremen’s Association reached an agreement with the United States Maritime Alliance after striking for three days. The new deal includes a 62% wage hike over six years. Will the short-lived strike have any impact on supply chains? Labor expert, Vinnie Vernuccio, president and co-founder of the Institute for the American Worker, joins Dan to discuss!
Hurricane Helene. Last week Hurricane Helene was a category 4 hurricane when it first made landfall in northwestern Florida. The hurricane then made a destructive path up into Georgia, South Carolina, and parts of North Carolina and Tennessee. At least 215 people have died as a result of Helene and hundreds are still missing. Massachusetts Task Force 1, an urban search and rescue team, is deployed to North Carolina to assist with the disaster. Tom Gatzunis of MTF1 joins Dan to give us an in-depth look at what’s transpired.
