Three Massachusetts communities see their educators on strike for a third day now. The negotiations continue in Gloucester, Beverly, and Marblehead over educators’ contracts, in which the various teachers’ unions are asking for higher pay, more benefits, and parental leave among other demands. Beverly and Gloucester were scheduled to report to Essex Superior Court in Lawrence for a contempt hearing where they could face fines after they refused to call off their own work stoppages.
